Greetings ---

I wanted to ask a favor from you all. Tomorrow is my big day for my last chemo - I have a lot going on tomorrow and would appreciate if you all would keep me in your thoughts tomorrow... It's a big day for me to find out a lot about what is going on in my future and since i consider you all family... I figured I would send you all a reminder as to what is going on with me tomorrow - Wednesday November 28th - starting with a surgeon appointment at 8AM and the appointments go on from there -- I am to report to the infusion lab at 2PM so my chemo will start a little after 3PM.... So any thoughts or prayers during these times would be greatly appreciated.

Now on to my area news I wanted to share with you - because I think MANY of you would be interested in at least one of these events below....

Area News About Upcoming Events at A Time for Science

My friends John and Nancy Bray have two great events coming up at their center that I wanted to make sure ALL of you were aware of what is going on out there.. I hope you will check them out - they both look to be a lot of fun... and I would hate for any of you to miss out just because I didn't let you know about them.... As I said in my last note - after I get this chemo behind me I want to plan some workshops.... So stay tuned - thank you all for your kindness during this time - I am truly a lucky woman to have such amazing people in my life - I appreciate ALL of the cards, emails, notes, visits and all of the encouragement I have received during this journey in my life. A little behind on posting...

So sorry for not posting before now, but I have had a lot going on - with chemo and another chemo with a bad reaction (the canceled it and rescheduled it for Tuesday November 6th). There was a benefit for me at AJ McMurphy's on Saturday November 3rd and they had all sorts of goodies for the auction and a door prize raffle and 50/50 auction. It was so much fun - they had all kinds of cool things going on and there were SO MANY OF YOU who came out to see me and it was awesome - I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope to have some good news about a Saturday workshop soon so stay tuned for that... I apologize for not having had classes before now - but there has been so much going on and chemo - I am just ready to get things moving to get some classes together for you all... So stay tuned!

Fundraiser for Nan

My friends at AJ McMurphy's are putting together a fundraiser to help raise money to help me during this time. Mark your calendar and come out to see me at AJ's -- It's going to be a great time - they are getting wonderful silent auctions - there will be a 50/50 auction AND an awesome band will be performing called "The Speculations" which all happen to be a team of doctors... Just wanted to keep you all up to date as to what is going on and what is coming up. Thanks Nan~

Meet Up

I went to Meet Up to create an account and guess what... they charge for the account - so I will have to find another way to keep you up to date - maybe with a Google calendar to let you know what we are planning for upcoming events and workshops. I had no idea they charged - sort of like everything else I have tried to do - everyone wants a dollar.... If anyone has any ideas of ways to keep upcoming events organized - PLEASE let me know. THANKS!!!!!! Nan~

Workshops

I had planned to have a schedule together for Sue to teach a workshop on the 20th, but time just has not allowed it. I will be scheduling some workshops soon and HOPE you all will sign up for them. Sue has some great class ideas and so does Pam - so be on the look out for NEW stuff to be coming up for the mobile bead store. Well not really mobile, but the classes will be mobile. I plan to get with Pam and Sue next week and figure out some dates for the workshops and will post them - as I said before we will have to require a deposit through PayPal for the classes to guarantee spaces and to ensure that all will show up. Gas is too expensive for a teacher to drive to a class and people don't show because they "forgot" "something came up" or "changed their mind". I hate to be harsh, but being for 7 1/2 years I had people who did this some on purpose some by accident - we can't afford to do this to our teachers anymore. So be sure when you sign up - that you MEAN to sign up and that you PLAN TO ATTEND.

On another note... My dear friends Shannon and Bill Stom that own AJ McMurphy's are planning a fundraiser for me to help raise money to help me during these months - The date is already set for November 3rd - 8PM - and they will have a 50/50 raffle - and a silent auction and ending the night with a wonderful group of doctors with the band The Speculations - So if you don't have plans - mark your calendar - and plan to come out - I am SURE it is going to be an awesome time....

I miss you all so much - but my health is #1 priority for me - and I know you all know what I mean by this - I am trying to find ways to keep you all engaged in classes. Thanks so much - Happy Thursday.

2nd chemo behind me

Just a quick note to let you know that my 2nd chemo is behind me - I am completely bald - but actually as scared as I was to be bald - I actually don't mind it... I so want to make some sort of scarf and bead the edges of it to make it very "jeweled".. So stay tuned for that adventure to start... I will be bald at least another few months so I have to fashionable... and jeweled... :) I am really missing the store - and I know all of you are too, but I am trying to put together a couple of workshops in the later part of October - 20th is one date - and am looking at some others - so please stay tuned. When scheduling these classes we will have to set up a "reservation fee" to be paid in order to guarantee space in the classes and to make sure each person is truly going to attend. Sue drives over an hour away to teach and we want to make sure it is worth her while. So stay tuned for more information on that. The store phone is working 252-353-2324 and you can call and leave a message - you can still sign up for our email newsletters on the right hand side of this page - and stay tuned for more information about possible trunk shows coming up. I would love to have another seed bead trunk show before the holidays and another gemstone one too. Let me know your thoughts on that and I will get busy making contact with the companies to do that and securing a location to DO the trunk shows with helpers with me. So let me know. I miss you all - and I appreciate all of the kind words - notes - cards- calls - emails - messages on Facebook I have received from you all. It is very touching. Thank you so much!
